About London and the Housing Issue: A Conversation with Kate Macintosh
What is to be an architect who had the possibility to work on a very large-scale housing project? What were the challenges? What were the opportunities? But above all what was the role of the architect within such project when the public sector was committed to the housing project. In this interview, Kate Macintosh retraces the roots of her political attitude and the architectural genesis of her housing projects, especially Dawson’s Heights. She draws a personal portrait of the London architectural context during the shift from the London County Council to the Greater London Council and talks about the contemporary housing situation from her activist point of view.
