Development of speed qualities in young athletes

The features of the development of speed characteristics in young athletes in groups of initial training of the third year of study - starting reaction, speed of single movement and frequency of movements - are revealed. Effective means of speed development are revealed: leading physical exercises of complex (versatile) action on all main components of speed abilities, outdoor and sports games, martial arts and relay races. Effective methods are selected (repeated method; method of acceleration from a place or on the move; variable method, game, competitive). The method of improvement of high-speed characteristics during the educational and training process of young sportsmen of groups of initial training of the III year of study is shown. The tests carried out in the control group show an increase in speed characteristics according to the results: running on the spot for 5 s (number of times) ± 1; running 30 m ±0.1, shuttle run 4 x 9 m, s. ±0.2. In the experimental group there was an improvement of high-speed characteristics as evidenced by indicators in running on a place for 5 s (number of times) ± 1; running 30 m. ±0.3, shuttle run 4 x 9 m, s. ±0.3. The effectiveness of the developed methodology for the development of speed characteristics during the training process of young athletes is proved.
