Motivation of adolescent boys to engage in health-enhancing recreational physical activity
The study investigates the motivation of adolescents to engage in health-enhancing recreational physical activity using a questionnaire-based survey method. A significant interest among male adolescents in strength training has been identified. The findings indicate that the primary motives for such activities are improving physical appearance and enhancing physical fitness. The leading stimulus for engagement was information obtained from social media, while the main barrier was a lack of time. Among the preferred organizational aspects of such activities were the incorporation of competitive elements, progress tracking, and musical accompaniment.
