ANALYSIS OF INDICES OF THE LEVEL OF SOMATIC HEALTH OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
The problem of preserving the health of the growing generation in Ukraine has always been actual, but it acquired special significance during the period of the full-scale war of the russian federation on the territory of our state. The article analyzes the indices of express assessment of the level of physical (somatic) health of high school students using the method of H. L. Apanasenko. The usage of this method allows a comprehensive consideration of both anthropometric indices and ones of the functional state of the cardiovascular, respiratory and muscular systems of the body. 84 students, 16–17-year old ones (40 girls and 44 boys) took part in the study. All subjects were measured using standard methods of height, body weight, vital capacity, hand strength, systolic blood pressure, resting heart rate and underwent Martine-Kushelevsky’s functional test (heart rate recovery time after 20 sit-ups in 30 seconds). It was found that 9.1% of boys and 15% of girls have a low level of physical health. 47.7% and 40% – below average, 38.7% and 42.5% – average, and only 4.5% of boys and 2.5% of girls have a level of somatic health above average. However, a high level of health was not recorded in any of the studied students. Only a small number of the studied individuals (3.6%) have a "safe" level of health, almost half of all students (40.5%) are in the risk group, while 55.9% are in the group with a "dangerous" level of health. The results of quantitative assessment of the level of physical health of students make it possible to identify risk groups, the reasons for low indices, contribute to lifestyle correction and preservation of schoolchildren’s health.
