Management of the Training Process in Sports Wrestling Considering the Modern Competition Rules

The modern level of development of sports wrestling requires highly efficient management of the training process, driven by increasing competition on the international stage, rising demands for various types of athletic preparation, and changes in competition rules. The aim of this study is to determine the features of training process management in sports wrestling based on the analysis of the competitive activities of elite athletes. An analysis was conducted on 198 matches from the 2023 World Wrestling Championships in freestyle wrestling. Eleven key technical-tactical actions (TTA) performed by wrestlers were identified: four in the parterre position (26.11 % of all TTA) and seven in the standing position (73.89 %). The most frequently used TTAs included: in the parterre position – turn overs and gut wrenches, in the standing position – leg attacks, step out and take down. It was determined that more points were scored in the first period (56.46 %) compared to the second period (43.54 %). The highest number of points was recorded in the second (20.96 %) and third (20.13 %) minutes of the match, while the lowest scoring occurred in the fourth minute (13.40 %). The key indicators of competitive activity have been identified. The analysis of the competitive activity of elite wrestlers has made it possible to determine the key aspects that need to be considered for successful management of the training process.
