Comparative analysis of the level of physical activity of children in different countries of the world

The paper analyzes the data on the level of physical activity of children of different ages in different countries of the world. The countries with the highest and lowest estimates of different segments of physical activity have been identified. The purpose of the study was to compare estimates of the level of physical activity of children from different countries of the world according to the indicators of the Active Healthy Kids Global Alliance (AHKGA). To achieve this goal, the following methods of research have been used: analysis of scientific and methodological literature, general scientific methods of theoretical cognition (induction, deduction, analysis and synthesis, comparison). Results and conclusions. AHKGA requirements include the assessment of ten indicators of physical activity: overall physical activity levels; organized sport participation; active play; active transportation; sedentary behaviours; family and peers (any member within the family who can control or influence the physical activity opportunities and participation of children and youth in this environment.); school (any policies, organizational factors or student factors in the school environment that can influence the physical activity opportunities and participation of children and youth in this environment); community and environment (any policies or organizational factors in the municipal environment that can influence the physical activity opportunities and participation of children and youth in this environment); government (any governmental body with authority to influence physical activity opportunities or participation of children and youth through policy, legislation or regulation). An analysis of reports on physical activity among children and youth from 68 countries has found that Denmark and Slovenia have the best estimates of various segments of physical activity. The highest level of overall physical activity among children was recorded in Slovenia and Finland. In general, there is no clear correlation between the level of GDP of countries and the overall level of physical activity of children, but it has been found that the level of involvement in specially organized physical activity is higher in countries with relatively high incomes. It has been established that one of the important factors affecting certain indicators of physical activity is the climatic and geographical features of countries.
