Educational and wellness vector of physical culture specialists’ training: from national standards to global trends

The article substantiates modern approaches to improving the professional training of physical culture specialists based on the integration of wellness philosophy, global strategies for physical activity development, and national educational standards. The content of the educational and professional program "Physical Education", developed in accordance with the Higher Education Standard of Ukraine for the specialty 017 "Physical Culture and Sports" (2025), is analyzed. The program aims at the formation of integral, general, and special competencies of students. The role of wellness-oriented technologies in ensuring the comprehensive physical, mental, and social well-being of individuals is revealed, and the necessity of their integration into the educational process is substantiated. The compliance of the program with the strategic guidelines of the World Health Organization, particularly the Global Action Plan on Physical Activity 2018–2030, which identifies physical activity as a key determinant of sustainable societal development, is emphasized. Special attention is paid to the application of modern digital technologies, online platforms, and mobile applications for optimizing the educational process and monitoring students' physical activity. The potential of the program in training physical education teachers, instructors, methodologists, heads of physical education departments, and lecturers of higher education institutions is highlighted. Future research directions are outlined, focusing on adapting wellness approaches for different age groups, developing indices for assessing the effectiveness of wellness programs, and expanding the possibilities of digital support for physical activity in education. The article possesses scientific and methodological value for improving educational programs, developing innovative wellness technologies, and promoting a healthy lifestyle among the population.
