OPTIMIZING EXTRACTION CONDITIONS TO ENRICH POLYPHENOL AND FLAVONOID FROM Ehretia asperula LEAF EXTRACT AND EVALUATING ITS IN VIVO HEPATOPROTECTIVE PROPERTIES
Ehretia asperula is a medicinal plant rich in polyphenols and flavonoids, with potential bioactive properties, and is used in traditional medicines. This study aimed to extract and optimize the antioxidant activity of the extract and determine its hepatoprotective effects. The extraction conditions were optimized using the Box-Behnken method at different temperatures, ethanol concentrations, and solid-liquid ratios. Antioxidant capacity was assessed using ABTS•+, DPPH, reducing power (RP), and total antioxidant capacity (TAC) assays, and hepatoprotective efficacy was evaluated in a CCl4-induced liver injury mouse model.
