STRATEGI INTEGRASI KECERDASAN BUATAN DALAM KEBIJAKAN PERTAHANAN INDONESIA SINERGI LINTAS SEKTOR UNTUK MEMPERKUAT KEMAMPUAN NASIONAL
This research explores the reformulation of Indonesia’s national defense policy by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) to address increasingly complex security threats in the digital era. The study aims to assess the potential of AI in enhancing strategic decision-making, mitigating threats, and managing defense resources more efficiently. While previous studies have highlighted AI's contributions to cyber resilience, intelligence data analysis, and real-time surveillance, few have focused on its policy-level implications in developing countries like Indonesia. Methods: The method used is a qualitative literature-based analysis involving global best practices and the Indonesian defense context, using data from academic journals, policy documents, and case studies from countries that have successfully adopted AI in military systems. Findings: The findings indicate that AI can improve decision-making speed, operational accuracy, and responsiveness to cyber threats, particularly through predictive analytics, neuro-symbolic systems, and real-time anomaly detection. Nonetheless, key challenges persist, including ethical concerns, data security, algorithmic bias, and limited infrastructure and regulatory frameworks. Conclusion: The study concludes that a comprehensive national strategy involving multi-stakeholder collaboration, policy reform, and investment in human resource capacity is essential for optimizing AI’s role in Indonesia’s defense. Novelty/Originality of this article: This study contributes to the literature by proposing an integrated framework that links policy innovation with AI technology in Indonesia an example from the Global South where such integration remains underrepresente
