PERSPECTIVES OF AGRICULTURAL DIGITALIZATION IN THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA

This article presents the key characteristics, main advantages, and existing challenges of digital agriculture. By analyzing the vulnerabilities of Armenia’s agrarian sector, the study explores possible solutions through the transformation of agricultural digitalization. The application of advanced and digital technologies in agriculture is a crucial condition for the efficient use of limited resources, increased productivity, and enhanced output of farming enterprises. This will help minimize risks in the agricultural sector and contribute to the development of a more resilient and sustainable agricultural system, ensuring a higher level of resource management efficiency. Examining global experiences in agricultural digitalization, the study highlights the importance of transitioning from fourth-generation agriculture to knowledge-based fifth-generation agriculture. It also substantiates the relatively low efficiency of traditional agriculture in Armenia and emphasizes the necessity of transitioning to precision agriculture through digitalization.
