Data Space: A New Model for Integrating, Managing, and Sharing Heterogeneous Data from Multiple Sources

As a secure and trustworthy data circulation envi- ronment, the data space provides strong support for promoting the sharing, circulation, and development of data resources across departments, levels, regions, and subjects. It plays an important role in cultivating a national integrated data factor market. The data space involves various aspects of data management, sharing, and processing. Through technologies such as data integration, virtualization, and metadata management, it achieves unified organization and management of multi-source heterogeneous data, supporting functions such as data cataloging, browsing, searching, querying, updating, and monitoring. This article summarizes the concept and characteristics of data space, with the help of visualization software Citespace, the literature on the theme of “data space” included in China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) was used as the data source for analysis, based on the relevant theories of bibliometrics, a visual analysis of keyword co-occurrence and clustering was conducted on the selected literature, and the development status of data space at home and abroad was summarized. Then, the research content of data space related technologies was introduced from the aspects of data modeling, integration, storage and indexing, and retrieval queries, in order to provide reference for research and application in related fields.
