How top management's cognitive structure affects firms' green innovation: a perspective from private listed technology firms

Green innovation is a significant driving force for achieving sustainable development. This paper selects A-share listed private high-tech enterprises in China from 2011 to 2020 as samples to empirically examine the relationship between executives' overseas experience, academic experience, and corporate green management innovation. The empirical test reveals that executives' overseas experience positively influences corporate green management innovation, while executives' academic experience may inhibit corporate green management innovation. The findings enrich studies on how executive characteristics affect corporate behavior and provide empirical evidence for promoting human capital development and achieving green sustainable economic development.
