The influence of digital transformation on enterprise performance and the underlying mechanisms through which it operates

The rapid development of information technology, such as Internet of Things, big data and so on, has created good developing condition for digital transformation of Chinese enterprises, and the process of digital transformation has a significant influence on enterprise performance. This study, using the data of China's A-shared listed enterprises from 2011 to 2022 as a sample, empirically tests the impact and mechanism of digital transformation on enterprise performance. The findings show that digital transformation is helpful to improve enterprise performance significantly, and its mechanism manifests the digital transformation of enterprise by easing financing constraints, enhancing green innovation momentum and improving production efficiency to further improve enterprise performance. Under the background of strong national support, this study can provide support of theory and data for the development direction of digital transformation of Chinese enterprises and the realization of high-quality development of enterprises.
