A Noniterative Decoupled Solution for Interconnected Power System Dispatch with Analytical Cost Reformulation and Nonlinear Constraints Equivalent

Efficient and coordinated dispatch is crucial for the safe operation of interconnected power grids. Existing dispatching methods commonly face issues of heavy communication burdens and vulnerability to data leakage. In this regard, a noniterative decoupled dispatching method for interconnected power grids is proposed, aiming to achieve secure and efficient scheduling of interconnected power grids while ensuring data privacy. Utilizing the multi‐point approximation method, an accurate equivalence of the nonlinear operational constraints of the external network is achieved. The analytical cost function related to tie‐line transmission power is reformulated based on the polynomial chaos expansion (PCE), replacing the operational cost of the external network. Moreover, a bi‐level adaptive update strategy for PCE is proposed to enhance the accuracy of the cost function. Based on the equivalent operational constraints and reformulated cost information, a noniterative decoupled dispatch model for interconnected power grids is constructed to protect data privacy and ensure the security and optimality of operation. The results of the IEEE 30‐bus and IEEE 118‐bus systems demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2025 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan and Wiley Periodicals LLC.
