APPLICATION OF BIOCERAMIC AND EPOXY SEALER IN ENDODONTIC TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC APICAL PERIODONTITIS

Sealing of the root canal system is one of the important and defining stages of endodontic treatment. This process is necessary to prevent re-infection. Despite the obvious progress in achieving the most effective results of endodontic treatment, the issue has not yet been definitively resolved. The need to understand and develop tactics in relation to the residual microbial community of the endodontic space dictates an appropriate interpretation of the intervention. In addition, none of the existing endodontic treatment techniques provide a sufficiently effective and long-term treatment outcome. In this regard, the obturation and sealing of residual microbial communities can be considered as a solution to this problem, while observing all procedures of endodontic intervention and understanding the mechanisms of interaction between tissues and microbial commensal. The defining qualities of the applied endogermetic that have the greatest impact on the final result of endodontic manipulations are, first of all, biocompatibility, antibacterial properties of the material, adhesion to the filler and the walls of the root canal system. Also important are the coefficient of shrinkage of the material in the endodontic space and the solubility indicators. Therefore, the choice of a sealant is a necessary decision for a dentist that affects the long-term outcome of treatment, and knowledge of the properties and characteristics of each group of materials is crucial in choosing the optimal endogermetic. This article presents a comparative description of the clinical use of bioceramic and epoxy silers using the example of use in the same age group with comparable clinical nasologies and identical conditions for performing clinical manipulations (instrumentation protocol, irrigation protocol).
