Research on the integration of mobile energy storage system for enhancing black start capability and resilience in distribution networks under extreme events
With the intensification of global climate change , the frequency of extreme weather events has increased, highlighting the vulnerability of distribution systems and resulting in prolonged power outages and significant economic losses. This paper proposes a strategy to enhance the resilience of distribution networks against extreme events using Mobile Energy Storage Systems (MESS). The main contributions of this study are: (1) enhancing the emergency power supply capacity of distribution networks against extreme events through strategic MESS configuration within the context of grid intelligence; (2) designing a scheduling strategy to achieve photovoltaic (PV) black start with MESS in response to power outages during extreme events; (3) developing a two-stage resilience recovery framework encompassing both pre-disaster prevention and post-disaster recovery to ensure a swift response and prompt restoration of the distribution network in the event of extreme occurrences. A case study using the improved IEEE 33-node distribution system validates the effectiveness of the proposed strategy. The results indicate that the configuration of MESS significantly improves the resilience of the distribution network under extreme events, with the recovery ratio of critical loads maintained above 90 %, thereby highlighting the advantages of diversified power supply resources in the post-disaster recovery of the grid.
