CORRELAÇÃO DA APTIDÃO FÍSICA E MICRONUTRIENTES EM OBESOS PRÉ CIRURGIA BARIÁTRICA

Introduction: Obesity affects approximately 1 billion people worldwide, and it is estimated that by 2025, approximately 167 million people will be less healthy due to this condition. Objective: Correlation between certain micronutrients and the level of physical fitness of preoperative patients enrolled in a multidisciplinary bariatric surgery program. Methods: The Time Up and Go (TUG) motor tests were used to assess agility and dynamic balance, the Sit-Up test to assess endurance and strength, and the Sit-and-Reach test to assess flexibility. Results: At significant p values, we found Weight with vitamin D (p=0.00), WELLS and B12 (p=0.01), CA and WELLS (p=0.04), SIT-UP with B12 (p=0.04) and B12 and Vitamin D (p=0.00). Conclusion: Patients with lower weight had higher concentrations of vitamin D, with better results in the flexibility test, had higher concentrations of calcium and vitamin B12, and with better results in the strength test, had high concentrations of vitamin B12 levels.
