PROBLEMS OF DIAGNOSIS AND MORPHOLOGICAL VERIFICATION OF OVARIAN TUMORS

The purpose of this study is the problems of diagnosis and morphological verification of ovarian tumors. We studied the results of the examination and treatment of K., 37 years old, who underwent surgical treatment in the gynecological department of the State Medical University named after V.D. Seredavin. The patient was admitted for inpatient treatment with a referral diagnosis: "Adenomyosis. Endometriosis of the left ovary with cyst formation." In this clinical case, there was a rather long period of time that elapsed from the moment of diagnosis of ovarian cancer to the moment of surgical intervention. The patient was fully examined at the prehospital stage according to the clinical recommendations "Endometriosis". Despite the presence of a tumor in the patient's ovary, a full study of tumor markers was not conducted. Perhaps carrying out this diagnostic method would allow us to doubt the correctness of the directional diagnosis and expand the scope of the preoperative examination in this patient. The volume of surgical intervention corresponded to the intraoperative diagnosis and cito–diagnostic data. The torsion of the left appendages and their mobility could distort the ultrasound data, as well as affect the morphological results of cito–diagnostics. Despite the fact that the results of the rapid biopsy did not confirm the malignant nature of the formation, a thorough revision of the pelvic and abdominal organs was performed intraoperatively, which did not reveal the dissemination of the tumor process. Thus, based on the study of this clinical case, it is possible to conclude that it is necessary to maximize all the possibilities of laboratory and instrumental diagnostics in patients with ovarian tumors and carefully follow their surgical protocol.
