Research on the Measurement and Regional Differences of New Quality Productivity in Guangdong Province
Currently, accelerating the development of new quality productivity has become the driving force for promoting high-quality economic development in China, and it is also a key measure for implementing the major strategy of coordinated regional development. This article constructs an evaluation index system for the level of new quality productivity from three dimensions: new workers, new means of production, and new labor objects. Based on panel data from 21 cities in Guangdong from 2013 to 2022, the entropy weight TOPSIS method is used to measure their level of new productive forces, and the Theil index is used to analyze their regional differences and sources. The research results show that the overall level of new productive forces in Guangdong presents a continuous upward trend, but there are significant regional differences. The Pearl River Delta region is in a leading position in the development of new productive forces, while the eastern, western, and northern parts of Guangdong are relatively lagging behind and have a large gap.
