Blockchain-Enabled Secure Data Aggregation for SDN-Enabled Ad-Hoc Networks
The burgeoning field of networking necessitates secure and efficient data aggregation within dynamic environments like Software-Defined Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (SDMANETs).While SDMANETs offer a foundation for flexible communication, their inherent openness exposes them to security vulnerabilities during data collection.Existing approaches that rely on universal group keys for intra-node (N2N) and node-to-Controller (N2C) communication are inadequate for resource-constrained SDMANETs, requiring frequent key updates and lacking mechanisms for real-time node management. This work proposes a novel approach, BCSDA, to enhance security and privacy in SDMANET networks by leveraging block chain technology and cluster-based data aggregation. Our solution utilizes a grouping of the Pelican optimization algorithm (POA) for selecting cluster heads, one-way hash chain techniques and Paillier homomorphic encryption for secure data aggregation, and Chinese Remainder Theorem (CRT) for block chain retrieving process. This reduces network traffic and improves efficiency, a crucial aspect for large-scale Manet device deployments.Block chain technology is then integrated to provide a secure and tamper-proof ledger for recording aggregated data.To evaluate the effectiveness of our approach, we employ the ns-3 network simulator. This allows us the assess the effect of our solution on security, privacy, and network performance metrics. This research contributes to the advancement of secure and privacy-preserving SDMANET networks by combining the strengths of block chain technology and cluster-based data aggregation. It addresses the critical need for robust security solutions in the ever-expanding world of SDMANET.
