Morphological and phytochemical characteristics of Cymbopogon flexuosus (Nees ex Steud.) W.Watson cultivars at different harvest intervals in the Western Himalayas, India
The tested cultivars exhibited excellent adaptability to the Western Himalayan environment. Based on EO yield and quality, cultivars 'CKP-25', 'Krishna', and 'RRL-16' were identified as the most promising. In most cultivars, higher EO content and citral levels were observed at the 75-day harvest. In future studies, combined assessment of agronomic traits and EO profile could serve as an effective approach for cultivar screening. © 2025 Society of Chemical Industry.
