A high-gain planar quasi-Yagi antenna applied for tunnel communication

In order to solve the problem of large volume and narrow bandwidth of traditional Yagi antenna, this paper introduces a printed quasi-Yagi antenna with high gain applied to tunnel communication. The circular monopole antenna as the drive element. The rectangular reflector engraved with curved grooves and metal floor with rectangular groove which widened the bandwidth of the antenna. Reflector and metal floor contact reduces the overall size of the antenna. The top of the antenna with four rectangular directors which improve the overall gain and radiation performance of the antenna. It’s bandwidth from 2GHz to 4.3GHz. The antenna is well matched, with a maximum gain of 9.18 dBi, and the overall antenna size is 75݉݉ × 50݉݉ × 1.6݉݉.
