AUV vertical plane motion modeling and wave following control under irregular wave disturbances
This study presents a near-surface communication mode for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) designed to meet covert communication requirements. A three-degree-of-freedom vertical plane motion equation for the AUV is developed, informed by slicing theory for predicting irregular wave forces in near-surface environments. Simulations are conducted to assess AUV wave following control. The results reflect effective control performance, demonstrating that increased rudder effectiveness contributes positively to control optimization.
