An efficient and lightweight pseudo-random number generator based on logistic map
In recent years, pseudo-random number generators (PRNG) based on chaotic maps have been extensively studied. Most of them are based on multi-chaos mutual disturbance or using linear feedback shift register (LFSR) to perturb chaotic systems. However, the consumption of system resources also increases after the disturbance source is introduced. In this paper, a lightweight and efficient pseudo-random number generator based on Logistic map (LE-PRNG) is developed. The outputs of the Logistic map are used to control its input and parameter in different ways. The evaluation of resource consumption based on the field-programmable gate array (FPGA) platform shows that the LE-PRNG consumes much less hardware resources compared to available systems. The quality of the LE-PRNG is seriously evaluated by various tests and analyses, and results show that the LE-PRNG has good performance.
