Biodiversity of Aquatic and Semi-aquatic Floristic in the Sesaot River, Bawak Goak, West Lombok, Indonesia

Abstract Aquatic and semi-aquatic plants are one of the most important components of aquatic ecosystems and belong to the azonal vegetation species. This study aims to analyze the biodiversity of aquatic and semiaquatic plants in the protected forest area of Sesaot Bawak Goak Buwun Sejati. The research method was carried out at three stations with a distance of 100 m from each station. Each station measures 10 m x 10 m with details of 5 m x 10 m in the river water area and 5 m x 10 m in the riverside area. The results of the study showed that the number of aquatic and semi-aquatic plant tribes found in the Sesaot forest river area amounted to 35 families with the largest distribution in semi-aquatic plants as many as 18 families (51.4%). The value of Shannon Wiener’s diversity index on all types of aquatic and semi-aquatic floristic plants in the Sesaot forest watershed habitat was 3.599 with a species equality index value of E=1 and Simpson’s ecological dominance index of 0.0411 (C>0.0411<0.300). The proportion of the percentage of semiaquatic plants in the Magnoliopsida class dominates the ecosystem with a percentage of 57%, Pteridophyta (23%), and Liliopsida by 20%, while the percentage of aquatic plants belonging to the Magnoliopsida class dominates the ecosystem with a percentage of 73% and Liliopsida class by 23%.
