Reversible Manipulation of Magnetic Properties in Flexible La0.7Sr0.3MnO3/SrCoO3−x Heterostructures

Flexible devices exhibit unique advantages in practical applications owing to their excellent flexibility, superior thermal stability and good mechanical strength. Integrating multifunctional transition metal oxide heterostructures on cleaved mica substrates provides further insight into the design of advanced flexible electric devices. In this study, [Formula: see text] bilayers are deposited onto mechanically exfoliated flexible mica substrates with [Formula: see text] buffer layers by pulsed laser deposition (PLD). The magnetic properties of the bilayers can be modulated by controlling the phase transformation of the top [Formula: see text] layer using ionic liquid gating, as evidenced by magnetic measurement results and the valence states of Co elements. Moreover, the magnetic properties of the bilayers can also be manipulated by applying varying mechanical strain to the flexible substrates. This research will be beneficial to further broaden the application field of flexible electronics.
