Framework for the Tree Inventory Management Tool Using Web GIS

Urban green spaces play a crucial role in enhancing individuals’ well-being, but their effective management requires a comprehensive approach. This involves not only caring for individual trees but also managing tree populations in urban areas to improve the overall environment. The focus of this paper is on creating a web-based GIS system for tree inventory to support urban forestry. This proposed system will document and display the existing flora and infrastructure, capturing details such as plant type, height, age, and other relevant information. A key aspect of this framework is, allowing people to contribute tree-related information based on crowd wisdom. Before being publis’hed as updates through crowd voting, these contributions will undergo evaluation and validation. This system is particularly advantageous for those without land ownership who still want to contribute to afforestation efforts.
