Technology Roadmaps for Transition Management in Education: A Case Study on Implementing Sustainable IT-enabled Practices in Higher Education
This research examines the implementation of sustainable IT-enabled practices in higher education using a case study of five Indian universities. The study examines the application of technologies like cloud computing, virtualization, and energy-efficient infrastructure. Quantitative analysis reveals that adopting cloud computing and virtualization led to an average 20% reduction in energy consumption, annual cost savings of ₹1,480,000, and improved user satisfaction scores (7.6/10). The findings emphasize the necessity of holistic strategies that encompass both the implementation of these technologies and thorough personnel training and strategic planning. The study highlights the challenges of initial investment and staff resistance while emphasizing the role of strategic training programs in facilitating smooth transitions. This framework provides actionable insights for institutions aiming to integrate IT sustainably, balancing environmental goals with operational efficiency.
