Optimizing Research Laboratory Workflows in Algeria Through Low-Code BPMN Implementation with BonitaSoft
This study presents the design and implementation of a digital workflow application specifically tailored for a scientific research laboratory at the Faculty of Computer Science, University of Biskra. Utilizing a Business Process Management (BPM) approach, the project aims to optimize and streamline laboratory processes, enhancing overall operational efficiency and performance. The workflow application is developed following Business Process Model and Notation 2 (BPMN 2.0) standards and implemented on the BonitaSoft low-code platform. Through systematic modeling of the laboratory's core processes, BPMN 2.0 provides a structured framework for effective workflow management and process improvement. BonitaSoft facilitates the development, deployment, and testing of these workflows, delivering a user-friendly interface and streamlined digital solution. The study concludes with an analysis of the application interfaces. It presents recommendations for future research, highlighting the potential for BPM tools in advancing laboratory management within scientific and academic environments.
