Timely Payment to the Beneficiaries Residing in Far-Flung Areas using IoT and Cloud Database Technology
One of the government schemes, named the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), employs rural households in India by guaranteeing 100 days of wage employment per year. The existing system for managing payments and records has been prone to corruption, inefficiencies, and errors due to the lack of necessary infrastructure in rural areas, mainly where access to banking and financial services may be limited. This can impact individuals and their businesses, making it challenging to maintain a stable cash flow and meet financial obligations. In conclusion, designing and developing an IT-based solution by leveraging Long-Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) technology, Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud database technologies that will work on internet-independent data exchange, ensuring timely wage/pension payment to rural beneficiaries under various government schemes. The research article aims to create a decentralized payment system enabling beneficiaries/ workers residing in far-flung areas to receive payments anywhere in the district and help create a transparent and corruption-free system.
