This module comprises two close identical patch antennas, serving as the transmitter and the receiver. Each antenna element is a cavity-backed patch fed with an L-probe. The antenna module has a wide impedance bandwidth of 17.9% (56.0-67.0 GHz) and stable radiation patterns across the operating band. By rotating both antennas by 45°, their mutual coupling level is significantly reduced. The <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$A$</tex>iP module is evaluated through system-level simulation in a multi-target ranging scenario. A high level of range resolution can be obtained with this module, making it a good candidate for short-range millimeter-wave radar systems.
