Exploring Future Research Directions and Unresolved Challenges in Developing Robust Cryptographic Solutions for Evolving Cloud Security

The explosion of cloud computing has revolutionized data storage, and with it, how we use that data — but not without creating other issues-specifically security issues. Traditional cryptographic mechanisms grapple with achieving optimal security strength and performance while operating in a resource-constrained cloud environment. The main aim of this study is to review about advanced cryptographic algorithms which can be used as a techniques and methods in creating cloud secure systems. We will look into the latest developments in homomorphic encryption, attribute-based encryption, lightweight cryptography and post-quantum cryptography. It is assessed on the ground of security, performance time, usability and pros & cons of each. Comparing these methods illustrates the ways in which each can help overcome critical cloud security issues like data privacy, access control and secure computation. We also highlight outstanding questions and present a research roadmap toward designing stronger cryptographic formulations for the changing cloud scenario. This survey serves as a comprehensive guide for researches and practising users working in the dynamic arena of cryptography & cloud security.
