Electromagnetic Design and Taguchi Method Optimization of High-Speed Permanent Magnet Motors for Air Compressors
Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles have a significant effect on reducing carbon emissions in the automotive industry. In the hydrogen fuel cell system, the air compressor, due to its unique high-speed requirements, must rely on a specially designed highspeed motor to provide the necessary driving force. The highspeed nature of the motor presents unprecedented challenges to key performance aspects such as efficiency and operational stability. This paper focuses on the design of a high-efficiency permanent magnet high-speed synchronous motor with low cogging torque, suitable for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. It includes an analysis of motor size design, comparison of magnetization methods, and optimization using the Taguchi method. The findings are of practical significance for the optimization of highspeed permanent magnet synchronous motors and for the development of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
