Health Monitoring of Ancient Building using Rechargeable Wireless Sensor Network
The inventiveness and originality of our ancestors are demonstrated via the worth of ancient architecture. The utilization of sensor networks is one strategy for preserving these priceless items. By deploying sensors throughout the building, architects and preservationists can monitor its condition in real-time and detect any early signs of damage or deterioration before they escalate. This paper proposes a framework for monitoring the health of ancient architecture using Wireless Rechargeable Sensor Networks (WRSNs). A heuristic algorithm based on a dominating set minimizes the number of sensors used for data collection by identifying an anchor set from the deployed sensors within the sensing domain. The minimum number of mobile devices, within the limits of their charging range, are scheduled to periodically recharge and collect data from sensors. Simulations show that the proposed algorithm effectively monitors environmental data around ancient buildings and shows superior performance over other methods.
