Impact of Heterogeneous Time Sensitivity and Word-of-Mouth Effects on Economic Efficiency in UAV-Vehicle Hybrid Delivery Systems

This study investigates the impact of heterogeneous time sensitivity and word-of-mouth effects on the economic efficiency of UAV-vehicle hybrid delivery systems. Our analysis reveals that an overemphasis on time-sensitive customers in route planning can lead to partial optimization, thereby reducing overall economic efficiency. This highlights the necessity of balancing time sensitivity with broader efficiency objectives. Future research should focus on developing algorithms suited for multi-vehicle and multi-UAV systems that incorporate heterogeneous customer characteristics.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of heterogeneous time sensitivity and word-of-mouth effects on the economic efficiency of UAV-vehicle hybrid delivery systems. Our analysis reveals that an overemphasis on time-sensitive customers in route planning can lead to partial optimization, thereby reducing overall economic efficiency. This highlights the necessity of balancing time sensitivity with broader efficiency objectives. Future research should focus on developing algorithms suited for multi-vehicle and multi-UAV systems that incorporate heterogeneous customer characteristics.
