Hybrid fuel cell and supercapacitor system with backstepping control for energy management
The paper presents a method to control autonomous energy sources, hybridizing fuel cells and supercapacitors supplying a resistive load. As it is an autonomous system, there are no longer other interactions with outside systems; it takes full advantage of using a backstepping control where its global stability is guaranteed. Simulation results are given to demonstrate well-known hybrid operating modes and the constraints of fuel cells as a primary energy source.
