Design of a Crop Health Monitoring System Using Drone

Agriculture is the practice of cultivating plants. Agriculture is an important sector of the Indian economy as it contributes about 17% to the GDP and provides employment to over 60% of the population. Nowadays people started thinking of getting more profit by using advanced techniques. One of the most important aspects of the increase in agricultural productivity is crop health monitoring. This paper presents a crop health monitoring system with drones equipped with a pixhawk 6X flight controller and a MicaSense multispectral camera. The system captures five bands (red, green, blue, red-edge, and near-infrared) to monitor crop health. The captured images are processed using Pix4D software to analyse the health of crops. The proposed system provides a cost-effective, efficient, and accurate solution for real-time crop monitoring.
