Design of Community Hydropower Storage for Agriculture in Thailand’s Highland Area
Agriculture in the highland areas of Northern Thailand is facing insufficient income due to excessively high agricultural costs, resulting in farmers' inability to practice sustainable agriculture, and leading to a lack of income for the community. To address this issue, this research project will study agricultural water requirements by simulating a water pumping system powered by electricity, as well as designing a Pumped Storage Hydropower (PSH) system to ensure that farmers can maintain year-round agricultural activities. This system also aims to improve the quality of life within the community by utilizing clean energy for electricity production. The results of the study demonstrate that the simulation of the electric water pumping system and the design of the PSH system can reduce agricultural costs in highland areas, enabling farmers to engage in sustainable agriculture while also increasing the community's income.
