Tri-Band Shared-Aperture Transmitarray at K-, Ka- and V-Bands

Transmitarray antennas (TAs) are attractive candidates for various applications due to their spatially-fed configuration and operation in transmission mode, which makes them promising smart skins for mounting on moving platforms. The TA architecture proposed here exhibits a tri-band operation for down-link and up-link satellite communications (Satcom) at Ka-band (at 20 GHz and 29.5 GHz, respectively) and for point-to-point wireless links at V-band (at 60 GHz). Three interleaved arrays sharing the same aperture are designed at these three frequency bands and placed in the same stacked-up configuration. The numerical results demonstrate very promising performance in radiation in the three frequency bands.
