Design and Benchmarking of a High Throughput Radar Altimeter Processor

Altimeters are a crucial part of autonomous navigation and guidance system. Highly accurate and high throughput are two very important feature of the Altimeters. To achieve the best possible update rate, benchmarking of the processor is an important task. This paper presents the details of radar altimeter processor design, a comparison on the benchmarking of altimeter raw data processor on CPU and FPGA platform and its test results.
