Closing Time Analysis of Electromagnetic Relay in Real Time Gas HV Circuit Breaker Simulator
Developing process of Point-on-Wave Switching Controller, capacitor bank switching is required for testing. While a Real-time simulator is another option for testing, its high cost can be a significant drawback. Therefore, employing a low voltage analog model with real-time circuit breaker simulator becomes a more economical choice. Real-time circuit breaker simulator, which is based on a low-cost microprocessor, can replicate high voltage characteristics, such as gas insulator breakdown and the rate of decrease of dielectric strength (RDDS). To function effectively, this circuit breaker simulator requires a fast-closing, high precision, and low uncertainty switching device. Electromagnetic relays are one potential option for the switching device. As a result, many relays are tested under various closing time conditions, including the first operation after a long idle period and after numerous operational cycles.
