Mapping of pyroxene parameters of mare basalts in the southeast Oceanus Procellarum from Moon Mineralogical Mapper (M3) instrument on board Chandrayaan-1
The dominant composition of mare basalt, which includes mafic mineral olivine and pyroxene, is best suited to comprehend geochemical evolution remotely. In this study, we have focused on the derivation of pyroxene spectral parameter maps using Moon Mineralogical Mapper (M3) data of the Chandrayaan-1 mission. In order to derive the pyroxene spectral parameter, the piece-wise continuum removal method is implemented, and spectral parameters were obtained for all the pixels.
