Application of BCITL-Based Wireless-Power-Transmission (WPT) Model for Moisture Sensors
In this paper, an application of wireless-power-transmission (WPT) technology in moisture sensors of materials under test (MUTs) is introduced. A WPT model based on a bi-characteristic-impedance transmission line (BCITL) is employed to analyze the WPT in the presence of MUTs. Using the simulated and measured data, the WPT model of the ultra high frequency radio frequency identification (UHF-RFID) system operating in the 920–925 MHz frequency band was developed. The MUT dielectric constant was varied from 10 to 30, according to the MUT's moisture content of interest. The new BCITL-based WPT model can produce accurate results with an additional physical understanding based on simulated results. In addition, the WPT technique can be used to indicate the moisture level of MUTs.
