Development of an Electric Taekwondo Armor for Training with a Wireless System and Real-Time Scoring Display

This paper proposes the development of an electric Taekwondo armor system designed for training with a wireless communication framework and real-time scoring display. The system utilizes ESP8266 microcontrollers and piezoelectric sensors to detect impacts and transmit data using the ESP-NOW protocol, achieving a communication range exceeding 100 meters. The system consists of a transmitter embedded within red and blue armor and a receiver that displays scores on an LED P10 display. Experimental results demonstrate the system's efficiency, with an average success rate of 76.67 percent for red armor and 84.45 percent for blue armor during controlled kicking tests. The system also performs reliably within the dimensions of a standard Taekwondo competition field, validating its practical application for both individual training and combat practice. This innovation provides a cost-effective and accurate solution to enhance athletes' performance by improving scoring precision and enabling focused skill development.
