On a High-Gain Omnidirectional Polarization-Diversity Dielectric Resonator Antenna

The primary focus of this paper is to provide a high-gain omnidirectional polarization-diversity cylindrical dielectric resonant antenna (DRA). The antenna consists of two ports. The TE<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">022</inf> mode is stimulated at Port 1, which results in a radiation pattern that is conical and horizontally polarized. A central probe is employed to excite the TM<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">021</inf> mode at Port 2, resulting in a radiation pattern that is conical and vertically polarized. The simulated results demonstrate that the suggested DRA possesses an overlapped bandwidth of 3.3%, and achieves a good coupling of −40 dB. Significantly, it provides a relatively good peak gain of 5.25 dBi.
