Gated Recurrent Units employed in sentiment analysis in online social media platforms

Research depends much on sentiment categorization as it facilitates the analysis of public opinion and emotional patterns. This is analogous to the importance of early identification in medical disciplines like brain tumor diagnosis, where fast identification may significantly improve prognosis and therapy outcomes. There are 10,000 occurrences in the dataset utilized for this work split into two sentiment classes: positive and negative. In this work, we address the difficulties processing sequential data for sentiment analysis by means of Gated Recurrent Units (GRUs) and ordinary Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs). Both models are trained and assessed on the same dataset using a disciplined comparison approach. The findings of our work show that GRUs perform better than conventional RNNs. Particularly in precisely characterizing sentiment, GRUs showed an amazing accuracy rate of 85%, therefore verifying their efficacy in jobs requiring the identification of long-term dependencies. This work underlines the need of using sophisticated neural networks to raise predicted performance in challenging categorization problems.
