Aperture-Field Synthesis of Circularly Polarized Folded Reflectarray Antennas
This paper presents a circularly polarized folded reflectarray (CPFRA) antenna with controllable aperture-field distribution and high aperture efficiency. The reflection-phase distribution of the circular polarization selective surface (CPSS) is modified to control the aperture-field distribution and to improve the aperture efficiency. The reflection-phase distribution for the Taylor distribution is computed, and a CPFRA antenna with discrete CPSS elements is designed at 18.95 GHz. High aperture efficiency of 66.4% is observed in a simulation.
