PENG-IQ: Perceptive Entrance Greeting and IoT-Based Queueing Management System
This research addresses prolonged waiting times and the repetitive greeting tasks of security personnel in a university setting. The proposed system combines a robot for greeting automation and a web application for paperless queue management and monitoring. Specifically, the robot comprises a microcontroller, an ultrasonic sensor, servo motors, a speaker, and an LCD. In addition, the web application utilizes a lightweight Flask framework, ensuring efficient performance and accessibility across various devices. Furthermore, testing of different network modes within the university shows acceptable performance. Consequently, the system demonstrates fast response times and efficient processing of queue requests. Moreover, the robot quickly updates when there are server changes, ensuring a seamless client experience. Based on the results, this research successfully integrated a robot with automated greeting and web application effectively that addresses repetitive greeting and waiting times in queue management within a university setting. Overall, the system's smooth operation across various network conditions underscores its practical benefits, offering a potential solution to enhance operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
