Review of Trends in the Development of Power Rectifiers used in Robotics
In the face of growing energy shortages, robot developers are increasingly attracted to new power converters. Herewith, only a few researchers pay attention to the problems of rectification and the potential for their resolving, despite the fact that the front or back ends of most converters contain rectifier circuits. The aim of the current review and its significance is to provide an up-to-date summary of rectifiers used for robot supply, their classification, challenges, and solutions arising from the integration of advanced power electronics into robotics. The study reveals the crucial role the rectifiers play in diverse stationary and mobile robotic applications. Progressive approaches to voltage, current, and waveform regulation are demonstrated. This helps expand the capabilities of robots and boost their efficiency, thereby optimizing energy utilization.
