Design of Antenna for Simultaneous Use of Electromagnetic Induction and NFC for Block Recognition in Education Device

This paper proposes a system for recognizing analog content on a smart learning tool for toddlers. This system utilizes Electromagnetic Resonance (EMR) and Near Field Communication (NFC) to discern the coordinates and information data of analog content placed on the smart learning tool. The system takes advantage of the capability for EMR and NFC data communication on the same antenna. Resonant signals for EMR are generated by sequentially applying MCU's PWM signals through a buffer IC to boost them and applying them to coil terminals, followed by configuring filter circuits for signal processing. NFC is controlled via SPI communication with NXP's PN532 IC. Additionally, analog switch ICs are used for performing EMR and NFC functions on the same antenna and for communicating with multiple antennas. With this configuration, the system scans multiple points rapidly to recognize analog content, thus developing a smart learning tool for toddlers.
